Established in 1953, the folk group has been writing its story under the wing of its alma mater, the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava.

Comprised of young university students studying in Bratislava, Technik includes a group of folk musicians, an all-girls group of singers, as well as a group of dancers. Ever since its establishment, the folk group has sought to present traditional material to contemporary audiences using its unique stylistic form.

Being one of the oldest folk groups in Slovakia, Technik is a much desired laureate in its category, frequently invited to festivals both at home and abroad.
